Wind Symphony / Symphonic Band Concert

The University of Florida Bands open their 2016-2017 concert season on September 22 with a FREE performance featuring a blend of cornerstone band classics alongside pieces fresh from the pen of some of the most talented composers living today. From the tuneful melodies of Holst’s First Suite in E-flat to the rainbows of color juxtaposed with intimations of U2 in Mackey's Aurora Awakes, University Auditorium becomes a melting pot of music - join the mix! 

PROGRAM: Maslanka- Mother Earth; Holst- First Suite in E-flat; Bolcom- Song (for Band); Arnold- Four Scottish Dances; Prokofiev- March, Op. 99; Hahn- Le bal de Béatrice d'Este; Glinka- Overture to Ruslan and Ludmilla; Benson- The Passing Bell; Dooley- Mavericks; Mackey- Aurora Awakes. Free - no tickets required.
