Lecture: Primal Screen's Doug Grimmett

    We have asked Douglass Grimmett for a journey talk – how did he get there from here. Grimmett is the founder of Primal Screen, an award-winning agency that creates engaging and strategic content for multiple platforms including film, television, gaming, interactive, mobile and environmental media. 

    He is the creative force behind Primal Screen projects including: redesign of Cartoon Network, launching Boomerang, launching Animania (the world’s first high definition animation network), relaunching Nick Jr., launching Sprout, designing a new on-air look for Spike TV, and rebranding PBS Kids in 2006, 2014 and PBS Kids Go in 2009. 

    Garnering over 300 national and international awards in advertising, design and broadcast, his work has appeared in Communication Arts, Print, Graphis, How, The New York Art Directors Club, Creativity, BDA Awards, The AIGA 365 Annual, and the Library of Congress Permanent Collection. He is President Emeritus of AIGA Atlanta, an AIGA Fellow and on the board of directors of MODA (Museum of Design Atlanta). He currently teaches Graphic Design History at Georgia State University.
