Lomnick Higgins is an administrative professional with 20+ years’ experience across sectors: non-profit healthcare, private industry (including technology, construction, transportation) and education. She leverages these varied experiences to connect with people. Communications’ experience includes: 10+ years volunteer service as a crisis intervention/suicide prevention counselor and trainer; training in effective communication, mentorship, facilitation, wellness and mindfulness; certifications in Crucial Conversations, Management Mastery, international mentorship, Responsible Conduct in Research, mindfulness.
Born in Clearwater, FL, Lomnick Higgins is a writer, dancer, activist, wife, mother whose personal motto is "doing what needs to be done." Using this approach to life and work, she is committed to community, access, and networking – building a net that works!
In addition to her work at UF SoTD, Lomnick Higgins serves on COTA Staff Council, maintains and facilitates multiple groups in community with colleagues across UF campuses, and serves as the Wellness Partner for SoTD.
