Oaklianna M Caraballo
Art in State Buildings Administrator
Dean's Office/Florida's Art in State Buildings at the University of Florida, Public Art

Oaklianna Caraballo is the Art in State Buildings Specialist for the University of Florida, Gainesville. Oaklianna began her public art career in this position in 2005.  Since then, she has overseen both publicly and privately funded projects. 

Her current research focuses on the intersection of public art and university campuses as sites for creative inquiry and problem solving. The intersections of art and public dialog, interactions, and interest creates unlimited possibilities for meaningful and unexpected encounters.  With a focus on best practices and National trends, the public art program at UF is participating in the ever evolving field of contemporary public art discourse. 

Oaklianna received her Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her Master’s degree in Museum Studies from the University of Florida. 

She has been a member of the Florida Association of Public Art Professionals since 2006 and has been a FAPAP Board member since 2009.  She currently serves on the Executive Board as the FAPAP President.
