Jamie Burg is a Ph.D. candidate in Music Education at the University of Florida. In addition to her appointment in the School of Music, she is an Assistant Professor at P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School and serves as the Mentoring Committee Chair for the Florida Bandmasters Association.
She earned a Master of Music in Music Education degree from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy degree from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania. She anticipates finalizing her Ph.D. in the Fall of 2023.
Her teaching and research specialty is non-formal popular music learning environments in schools, and she is working on a certificate in Instructional Design. She is an active teacher and teacher mentor who enjoys her work as a clinician and researcher. She is a seasoned music teacher in the community who taught band, orchestra, and popular music courses in secondary music classrooms since 2001.
